Workshops

"The Workshops are an excellent way to learn and further your watercolour techniques. "

Treescape.

Trevor Boult runs workshops, they focus on techniques to develop wet into wet and dry brush techniques in landscape painting. Those who have attended in the past have seen real progress in their watercolour painting.

Demonstration

Each Workshop is a specific subject although in all the basics will be taught, for novice’s simple landscapes, for those on their second or third Workshop more complicated techniques will be introduced.

The Workshops are held at Berkswell Reading Rooms and run from 9.30am until 4pm.
The structure of the day is fairly fluid but generally there’s a morning coffee break around 11am.
Lunch is at 1pm and has a wide homemade menu on offer.
There is also an afternoon tea break at 3.30pm.

Students working.

Those who have attended previous Workshops have had a thoroughly enjoyable day and went home tired but with the feeling of a rewarding and good days work with a set of paintings under their arms which they felt they had made progress with.

Blue trees.

The Workshops in 2009 will be based on four specific titles.

Long Acre Farm. 14th February 2009 Fully Booked
Buildings whether a hamlet or a farm are part of the countryside, in this workshop the aim is to place buildings in the landscape, using colours and textures to  blend them in to their rural environment.

Under a Watery Sun. 14th March 2009 Fully Booked
A subject that allows us to explore wet into wet techniques to create misty suns and soft hues. This workshop is about atmosphere with the use of transparent washes of colour; using trees in both dramatic and subtle profile.

Down a country lane. 18th April 2009 Fully Booked
An invite to journey down a country lane, using subtle tonal changes to create depth and distance in the hedgerow. This class will be very much about tonal ranges and use of colour to create depth and distance.
